Reviews for At the Center of All Beauty – May & June
At the Center of All Beauty continues to receive praise from reviewers and readers.
The New York Times Book Review recently published a review by Kathryn Hughes and named the book an Editor’s Choice. Hughes’ review calls ATCOAB a “lyrical yet finely argued book,” that manages to get at a “common denominator” in the lives of its subjects without reducing them: “the deeper [Fenton] looks, the more distinct each of his emblematic figures becomes.” [web, pdf]
Camille Cusumano, writing on her Medium page, gives At the Center of All Beauty an especially thoughtful treatment, reading the book through the lens of her own introversion and upbringing in a large family. She considers the book a “balm, validation, even celebration of all ‘solitaries’.” [web, pdf]
